I've opened beer bottles using my hand and the edge of a table. I've ruined a cheap Swiss Army knife knockoff using the tinfoil corkscrew to open a wine bottle. And I've even pushed the cork down into the bottle just so that I could get to the grape. However, I've never in my entire life opened a bottle of wine with my shoe:

That is extremely cool, but I bet that if I tried that I'd wind up walking home in a wet shoe with very irritated friends... I think I'll stick to corkscrews.
Posted by: D.W. at November 5, 2009 12:49 PMIt is pretty ingenious, but it doesn't have the inherent coolness of opening a bottle with a sword, which I learned a few years ago. Then again, I'm much more likely to be wearing shoes in public than a sword.
